Greetings from Texas!
I am Maria Luisa, the
bunso in the Plamenco family. My nickname is Baby, others call me Babes.
I graduated from the University of the
Philippines with a degree in BS Physical Therapy. After graduation, I went to work at Medical City for nine years
. In January of 1983, I ventured to the US to work as a Physical Therapist in Houston , Texas. I
am currently a staff PT at Kindred Hospital - Houston Medical Center and has been with the company since
August, 1992.
I am married to Guillermo (Dong)
Clarin of Sevilla, Bohol. Dong graduated with a BS Agriculture degree from Araneta University in Manila. When
he followed me in Texas, he went back to school at Houston Community College to take up an Associate Degree where he
graduated as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He is currently practicing the PT profession here in Houston.
We are blessed with one child, Mary
Bernadette or Mabee for short. Mabee graduated with a BS Psychology degree from the University
of Houston in 2004. She was an accomplished violinist as well, having taken up Suzuki violin at age 7 and played
this method till she was 14 years old , then switching to the traditional method and played till she was 20 years old. She
has won numerous competitions in solo as well as in quartet categories . She was the concert mistress for 3 consecutive
years in the symphony orchestra of St Agnes Academy where she finished high school. She was a member of the Houston Youth
Symphony Orchestra & the Greater Houston Youth Symphony Orchestra. The last solo concert she had was when she was 7 months
pregnant with Mika , which happened to be also the last time she would ever play her violin .
Mabee is married to Michael
Jason Rivera Jante a BS Information System Technology graduate from the University of Houston. Michael
was born here in Houston. His parents hail from Cavite &
Palawan.
Dong and I are proud to be grandparents
to two wonderful and adorable apos : Marichael Jade and Maveric Jaden.
Mika was born on June
4, 2000. She is a 3rd grade student at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School here in Houston. Mika is a
vivacious child. She loves to play soccer & softball. She loves rollerblading too. She loves to draw pictures,
sing and dance as well. She wants to become an architect when she grows up. Mika's favorite thing to do is to read
& play her Nintendo DS. She has outgrown the Magic Sing & the Wii nintendo games. She may follow in her Mama's
footsteps of playing the violin someday.
The newest addition to Mabee &
Michael's family is Maveric Jaden who was born on November 11, 2008. He is growing very fast .
