Aloha!!!
I am Fe, the eldest child of Severino
and Cecilia. I was born in Cebu City on January 29, 1941. I graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila with
a degree in Doctor of Medicine (Class of 1963).
After passing the Medical Board, I flew to New York
in the USA for my medical training. There, I met and later on married Efren Baria, another filipino
doctor (UP Class of 1962), who hails from the town of Luna in Kalinga Province.
After our training, we went back to the Philippines
with our first child, Carla, to await for the issuance of our immigration visas. Efren, Jr. was born in the Philipines
in 1970. When the visas came in 1971, our family flew back to Honolulu, Hawaii to establish our residence
there as well as our medical practice.
Efren and I have three children, namely: Carla
(born on Aug 31, 1967); Efren, Jr. (born on Nov 6, 1970); and Naomi Lani (born
on Sept 29, 1980).
Carla is married to Wes Kaili, and
they have three wonderful children: Shaz, Austin and Zoe.
Efren, Jr., is now an anaesthesiologist (having
graduated from Chicago College of Osteophatic Medicine in 2000) and is now practicing in San Francisco, California and here
in Honolulu. He is married to Heather Pierce and they have a two children, Nicholas
and Quinn.
Naomi graduated with a BS Psychology degree
from Carlton College in Northfield Minnesota in 2002. She finished her masteral degree this year. She is now
based in New York City, New York.
I work in the medical office where Efren is
connected. In about a year's time, both of us will be retiring to concentrate on living our lives to the fullest.
